News Corp's The Daily expected on Android tablets later this year

Whether you believe that The Daily is made of pure awesomesauce, or is simply a digital artefact of evil, the fact remains that its iPad-exclusivity could make some folks a bit envious. Android users needn't feel left out for long, though, because it looks like the trendy news app is set to make its way onto those shiny new Honeycomb tablets sometime later this year.

At least, that's what sources assumedly within The Daily's ranks have told All Things Digital -- and if you weren't already aware, both The Daily and All Things Digital are owned by Murdoch's News Corporation. Word is, while the iPad may reign supreme for the time being, Murdoch has always planned on slathering The Daily across as many digital slabs as humanly possible. The new batch of Android tablets are the perfect target, so none of this is surprising in the least.

In the meantime, if you happen to be the proud owner of an iPad, the free trial is still going strong. You can grab it through iTunes and get the first 2 weeks free, with a weekly in-app subscription fee of $0.99 USD after that.
